Art Lawrence's Story

As a young child, I attended private schools that were all college preparatory. By the time I finished high school at Hyde Park Baptist High, I noticed that my ability to easily develop skills in sports, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry, electronics, landscaping, architecture, and coaching were not just skills; they were talents. After being accepted to Texas Christian University in 1993 I decided to utilize all my talents by furthering my education at the elite level. My dad, a Master Electrician (E24), who taught me the electrical trade, was extremely excited because he and I visited with the head coach, (Tubbs) who assured us that I would be receiving a walk-on basketball scholarship since a shooting guard suddenly became injured in the off season. I fit the description of a very athletic guard with a raw talent for the game that Tubbs felt the team could benefit from. Sad to say, on June 10, 1995, my dad died from a heart attack. That Saturday changed my life forever. Why? My dad died without any insurance to cover the mortgage and other expenses. In order to continue living, I chose to attend Texas State University, formally known as Southwest Texas State University. This university was significantly closer to home which allowed me to assist my mom and younger brother in closing down my dad’s small electrical business. Today, I have partnered up with Master Electrician, Mike Short, owner of AC Electric, as a salesman and IT for his electrical business, while simultaneously assisting families in obtaining proper insurance for those that they leave behind.

Simplifying insurance by keeping carriers transparent, is an area I specialize in along with mortgage protection insurance. Another area of financial insurance I specialize in pertains to annuities. As a licensed agent, I have access to several carriers which enables me to find you the ideal amount of coverage for the least amount of money. Regardless of the fact that insurance contracts are aleatory agreements that differ from person to person, it is still my privilege to assist you in protecting yourself and your loved ones financially. Insurance carriers voluntarily engage in financial risks that they try to keep as minimal as possible. To keep the insurance industry in order, it is regulated by the state. As your insurance consultant, I look forward to representing you to insurance carriers.
